Aakash Chopra recently took a strong stance against a fan who edited and shared a misleading video falsely linking his commentary to the IPL 2025 clash between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on March 28. The video, which went viral, paired Chopra’s commentary with visuals of MS Dhoni walking out to bat, creating a false narrative.

Chopra, known for his sharp analysis and straightforward opinions, wasted no time in addressing the manipulation. Taking to social media, he condemned the act and urged fans to maintain integrity while sharing cricket content. He pointed out that the commentary in question was actually for Dhoni’s six later in the innings, not his arrival at the crease.

Frustrated by the deceptive editing, Aakash Chopra called out the fan on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), writing, “Six maarne ki commentary ko arrival visuals par chipka do views/engagement badha lo. God bless you, Kushagra. (Attach the commentary of the six to the arrival visuals… Increase views/engagement. God bless you, Kushagra).”

Despite CSK’s 50-run defeat to RCB, MS Dhoni still managed to entertain the Chepauk crowd. Coming in at No. 9, a decision that raised eyebrows, the 43-year-old smashed an unbeaten 30 off 16 balls, including three fours and two sixes.
I will never be in favour of Dhoni batting at number 9. Not ideal for team.

The decision to send Dhoni so late didn’t sit well with many, including former all-rounder Irfan Pathan, who remarked, “I will never be in favour of Dhoni batting at number 9. Not ideal for the team.” CSK, chasing 197, eventually managed only 146/8.
