With no fans in the stadium, the players often need to watch their tongue especially when they are close to stumps, and the RCB opener, Aaron Finch must have learned that the hard way during the clash between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Finch was heard making the abusive comments while batting.
Finch’s abusive words were picked up by the stump microphone and broadcast live on television, leaving the commentator in splits. The incident took place in the sixth over of RCB’s innings bowled by the KKR all-rounder, Andre Russell. The Australia opener could not control his words after failing to make contact with a slower short ball from the KKR allrounder and was heard saying: “Oh, you bas*ard”.

The commentators were left in splits as he hoped that the fans did not hear the comment. The comment from Aaron Finch was not directed at Russell or any other player as he had just expressed his frustration over missing the delivery. On the very next delivery, Aaron Finch suffered a blow on his helmet when Russell bowled a faster short ball.

As far as the match is concerned, RCB was well on the driver’s seat after scoring a huge total of 194 for in their quota of 20 overs owing to a whirlwind knock of Ab de Villiers as he scored 73 off just 33 balls with the help of five 4s and six 6s. KKR was reeling at 75 for 5 in the 14th over while chasing 195 and when eventually lost the game by 82 runs.
