The fiery Australian opener, Aaron Finch had an impressive Test debut against Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). He has been playing limited-overs cricket for the last few years and used his experience to the best of his abilities. After an impressive performance, he was included in the squad for the ongoing Test series against India. The first Test of the four-match series is currently taking place at Adelaide Oval.

Ishant Sharma did the cart-wheel for Aaron Finch

However, Finch had a forgettable outing in the first innings of the Test as he couldn’t manage to handle an in-swinger from fast bowler Ishant Sharma and perished in the very first over of the innings. He went back for a three-ball duck as his stumps went for a cart-wheel. In the second innings, he would be in with the responsibility of chasing whatever target India set for the Aussies.

When India batted, Finch was placed at short-leg, a fielding position where fielders get hit more often than not. In the third ball of the 33rd over, Indian skipper Virat Kohli clipped a ball from off-spinner Nathan Lyon which bounced straight into the throat of Finch. Despite the fact that the fielder was wearing a helmet he faced a blow on his neck but he didn’t seem too much concerned with the nasty blow.

In the meantime, Aussie captain, Tim Paine attempted to poke the fielder. He, funnily, asked him for a dart- a cigarette. He said, “Do you want a dart?”. But Finch reverted even more entertainingly, saying “Nah haven’t had one in six months!” The funny conversation was mentioned in a tweet from presenter Daniel Brettig.

As per the current state of the match, India is expected to set a massive score in front of the hosts and Finch is expected to play a crucial role during the run-chase. Moreover, after a lackluster T20I series against the Men in Blue, Finch would be hoping to make amends in the next innings.
