Renowned for his iconic commentary, Ravi Shastri has become a legendary voice in international cricket. Famous for delivering memorable lines like “Dhoni finishes off in style!” during the 2011 ODI World Cup final, Shastri has transitioned into a successful career in broadcasting.
Currently part of the Fox Sports commentary team for the Big Bash League in Australia, Shastri received high praise from fellow commentators Aaron Finch and Mark Howard. Ravi Shastri also served as the head coach of the Indian men’s cricket team and previously held the role of Director of Cricket. Reflecting on the evolution of one-day cricket, he emphasized the need for changes to keep the format relevant in the current landscape, especially with the growing popularity of T20 cricket.

“It (One-day format) has to evolve, changes have to be made,” Ravi Shastri stated during an interaction on Club Prairie Fire. Recalling the transformation from a 60-over game to the current 50-over format, he highlighted the necessity to adapt to the changing times, considering the diminishing attention span of spectators.
As Shastri continues to contribute to the cricketing world through his commentary, his insights reflect a deep understanding of the game’s dynamics and the importance of staying in sync with contemporary trends.
