Former Australian skipper, Aaron Finch opines that the young opener, Shubman Gill has to do well to help the Gujarat Titans (GT) to dominate the proceedings in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), feels Australia’s World Cup-winning captain Aaron Finch.
Previewing the champion side for official broadcaster Star Sports, Aaron Finch said that the only weakness that Gujarat Titans have in the IPL 2023 is that they will be relying a lot on Shubman Gill in the top order. Finch agreed that Gujarat has a strong middle order, but said that players coming in early is not necessarily a good thing.

During a chat on Star Sports, Aaron Finch said, “I think a concern area for Gujarat Titans will be their top-order if Shubman Gill does not fire. Shubman Gill is the X-factor for the team. We know how freely he can score, he is such a damaging player and when he gets in, he goes really big. If he fires, their middle order will function very well and they will be very hard to beat.”
He further added, “They have got a lot of firepower and a lot of experience in that middle order and a huge amount of power, but if they get in too early, they will ne in trouble.”
The batter said that David Miller will be the player to watch out for in the upcoming edition, since he is coming to the side after a sensational 12 months, which included the IPL 2022 where the South African amassed 481 runs at an average of 68.71.
Aaron Finch called Gujarat’s pace contingent the team’s biggest strength and said that they had the variety to suit any surface in the country.
