South African cricket will be going through a hectic schedule in upcoming days as they will soon be facing India within weeks and then major tours all over the world await. The Proteas have been proving themselves without their stars. AB de Villiers and Dale Steyn have not played any Test cricket since 2016.
The captaincy of the Proteas since then has been with Faf du Plessis. But now, Dale Steyn and AB de Villiers are expected to be making a comeback in the Test squad.
Zimbabwe will get a taste of day and night Test cricket for the very first time. It will be a four day Test and a first scheduled four day Test match since 1972/73, starting December 26.
Also, it will be the very first day-night Test match in South Africa. The Paarl Test is going down in the history as one of those. Zimbabwe and South Africa have only played eight Test matches since 1995/96; when they first played each other.
