Despite the constant demands of checking AB De Villiers if he is indeed a human or not have not been answered by the great South African but he has spoken out on other two superhumans. The two superhumans that ABD had to decide between, come from the world of football, World’s most popular sport. The question was put up to ABD on Twitter.

Cristiano Ronaldo

The football world was already divided between who is better, Pele or Maradona? Now the world is again separated in the two follower parties as they answer the question who is better, Messi or Ronaldo?  Considering the miracles that the two have put out in their glorious careers, it is always difficult for a footy fan to pick a favorite out of the two.

The same question was put in front of the miraculous South African batsman and current Royal Challengers Bangalore’s top-player AB de Villers. Facing the question ABD was as clear-headed as he is while hitting the low full-toss over the deep square leg.

AB De Villiers’ answer was Lionel Messi straightaway. He did not even mentioned Cristiano Ronaldo. That’s ABD for you: clear, decisive, clutter-free and obviously a no-nonsense character on the pitch who just does what he is required to do with wizardry and flamboyance. The question was asked by one of the Twitter users in the Q&A session conducted by De Villiers. ABD also provided valid reasons for his preference.

AB De Villiers tweeted,”It’s always been, Messi. He is a no-nonsense player, doesn’t fake it out there. It’s all about the great skill he has and the ability to win games out of nowhere. It’s Lionel Messi,”

It is possible that perhaps at the subconscious level, ABD can relate himself with Lionel Messi. Both are extremely talented, the World is always in awe of these two when they peak in their field, both have a universal charm and you can instantly like them even without knowing anything about them. One pain that both share is not winning the World Cup for their country.

AB de Villiers has been in a superb form this season and has scored 280 runs in 6 outings at a staggering strike rate of 185. he has missed out on the last two matches because of viral fever but he is expected to play in the next match. With RCB struggling this IPL season at the bottom half of the points table, ABD will be a key player if they are to resurrect.
