The Royal Challengers Bangalore team has congratulated Virat on his 200th IPL match. His teammate and veteran wicketkeeper-batsman AB de Villiers has wished him the same and also gifted him a special jersey on this special occasion as well.
However, his 200th appearance came against Kolkata Knight Riders in the second game in the UAE yesterday as the league has resumed the day before with the game between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings. Notably, RCB has failed to win the game. And, after the forgetful defeat, they will now try to work on their loopholes and return strongly.

On the other hand, Virat Kohli has made headlines with his two big announcements. At first, he announced that he would quit India’s T20I captaincy after the T20 World Cup and on Sunday, he announced that this will be his last season as a skipper of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). However, his childhood coach Rajkumar Sharma has supported him and said that it is nothing but an effort to manage his workload.
“Till the time he retires, he wants to play for Royal Challengers Bangalore and that shows his loyalty and he wants to remain part of the team and wants to concentrate on his batting and wants to perform better,” Rajkumar Sharma told ANI. “There is no pressure on him (Kohli), pressure is only of workload, and he wants to improve on workload management so that he can concentrate better on Test cricket and ODIs and country needs him.”

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli gave up the T20 captaincy to manage his immense workload, citing that he would not continue in the role after this year’s World Cup in the UAE.
“This will be my last IPL as captain of RCB. I’ll continue to be an RCB player till I play my last IPL game. I thank all the RCB fans for believing in me and supporting me,” said Kohli on RCB’s Twitter handle. “I spoke to the management this evening. This was something that was on my mind… I needed the space to refresh, regroup and be absolutely clear in how to move forward. RCB is going to go through a transitional phase with a big auction coming up next year… I’ve made it to clear to the management that I cannot think of being in any other team than RCB.”
