India’s T20 World Cup winners Abhishek Sharma and Axar Patel have been added to the National Anti-Doping Agency’s latest Registered Testing Pool (RTP) for the second quarter of the year. The pool remains dominated by athletics, but cricket still features prominently, with several top Indian names on the updated list.

Abhishek and Axar have replaced Smriti Mandhana and Shreyas Iyer in the 348-member RTP. Athletes in this pool must regularly share their whereabouts with NADA and remain available for testing within a fixed daily time window. Missing the whereabouts requirement three times can amount to a doping violation, making compliance a key part of the process.

The cricket contingent remains strong overall. India’s Test and ODI captain Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Hardik Pandya, Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah, KL Rahul, Arshdeep Singh and Tilak Varma continue to be part of the pool. Among the women cricketers, Deepti Sharma, Shafali Verma and Renuka Singh Thakur have also retained their places, taking the total number of cricketers in the RTP to 14.

Athletics remains the biggest segment in the list, with the number of athletes rising from 118 to 134. The pool includes some of India’s most recognisable track and field stars, such as Avinash Sable, Jyothi Yarraji, Tejaswin Shankar and Animesh Kujur. Long jumpers Shaili Singh and M Sreeshankar, along with discus thrower Tajinderpal Singh Toor, also feature.

The archery section includes Deepika Kumari, Rakesh Kumar and para-archer Sheetal Devi, while hockey is represented by Manpreet Singh, Harmanpreet Singh, Amit Rohidas, Hardik Singh, Salima Tete, Savita Punia and Navneet Kaur. The badminton group features eight players, including PV Sindhu, Lakshya Sen and Gayatri Gopichand.
