Abhishek Sharma’s Family Misses IPL Heroics Due To Booking Mishap

Following the thrilling encounter between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Lucknow Super Giants, opener Abhishek Sharma made a candid revelation about a personal mishap that left him disappointed. Sharma disclosed that he mistakenly booked his parents’ flight to the wrong destination, causing them to miss witnessing his heroic performance against the KL Rahul-led side.

The incident unfolded shortly after the match concluded at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, with Sharma seen engaged in a phone conversation, the recipient of which remained unknown at the time. Later, in a heartfelt confession, the 23-year-old shared that he had been speaking to his parents, who were originally scheduled to attend the match but ended up missing it due to his error in booking their flight.

“I was talking to my mom-dad. They were scheduled to come for this match, but unfortunately, I booked them a flight for home (from another location). I had to book (air tickets) for Hyderabad, but I booked for Amritsar,” Abhishek Sharma explained in an interview with JioCinema, a clip of which went viral on social media platforms.

Meanwhile, in the highly anticipated match against Lucknow Super Giants, Sharma delivered a stellar performance, propelling Sunrisers Hyderabad to a resounding 10-wicket victory. The explosive duo of Sharma and opening partner Travis Head dominated the proceedings, effortlessly chasing down the target of 166 runs in just 9.4 overs.

 

Abhishek Sharma showcased his batting prowess by smashing an unbeaten 75 runs off 28 balls, while Head contributed an impressive 89 not out off 30 deliveries, securing one of the most emphatic wins in IPL history. With this remarkable triumph, Hyderabad bolstered their position in the playoffs race, currently occupying the third spot on the points table with seven wins from 12 matches under the leadership of Pat Cummins.
