Australia leg-spinner, Adam Zampa played just three matches for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in IPL 2020 but it had helped him to get to know more about Virat Kohli, who is not very much liked in the Kangaroo nation. The latter has been known for having a rough history with the Australian fans since his first Test tour with Team India in 2011-2012.
The Indian skipper will be leaving for the much-anticipated tour of Australia this week and will be leading the Indian team for the white-ball fixtures and one Test match during his stay before coming back to India to attend the birth of his first child.

Adam Zampa will be up against Kohlu during the ODIs and T20Is, but he feels that the IPL bond will not come between him from taming the competive beast residing. Zampa said, “He’s a totally different person off the field. You see his aggression and how competitive he is on the field, he’s actually one of the most chilled out guys off the field. He’s the kind of guy (that) as soon as he walks across that line, he’s a competitive beast.”
He further added, “I saw it firsthand playing with him, there’s two different versions of him and that’s the weight of expectation he has on himself to perform for India. He’s actually one of those guys he’s a very easy laugh you can say the worst joke in the world and he’ll laugh his head off. He’d had enough of me by the end of it trying to make him laugh until his cheeks were sore,” Zampa said on The Unplayable Podcast.”
Talking about AB de Villiers, the other superstar of the RCB squad, New South Wales-born player called the “experienced” South African a character, who loves his beer more than anoyone. Summing up his entire thoughts about the two stalwarts of RCB, Zampa stated that they are “basically just like everyone else”.

Zampa elaborated, “AB de Villiers is an absolute character. He loves a beer more than anyone but he’s quite an experienced guy and he knows exactly what he needs to do to get the best out of himself. You just realise they’re basically just like you. You get to see them from afar and you can make assumptions about what their life is like and what they’re like as people. But they’re the same as everyone else.”
