Initially, Rohit appeared a bit tentative, but he quickly adapted to the conditions. He batted with caution, ensuring he kept the run rate in check while also putting pressure on the England bowlers. His innings featured some exquisite shots, and he maintained a steady flow of runs, keeping India in a strong position.

However, Rohit’s promising innings was cut short by England’s leg-spinner, Adil Rashid. On the fourth ball of the 14th over, Rashid bowled a googly that Rohit tried to hit out of the park. The ball stayed low and went under Rohit’s bat, rattling the stumps. His dismissal at a critical juncture brought England back into the game.

Despite Rohit’s departure, India managed to post a competitive total of 171 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs. Rohit’s partnership with Suryakumar Yadav was particularly significant, as the duo added 73 runs for the third wicket. This partnership played a key role in setting a challenging target for England.

After Rohit Sharma’s wicket, Jofra Archer struck in the 16th over, dismissing Suryakumar Yadav and giving England another breakthrough. However, the foundation laid by Rohit and Suryakumar ensured that India had a defendable total on the board. As the game progresses, India will rely on their bowlers to capitalize on this platform and secure a place in the final.
