Indian opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan’s wife Aesha Dhawan has recently revealed how she met with Shikhar for the first time.
During an episode of the Miss Field, when Aesha was asked about her first meeting with Shikhar Dhawan, she replied, “Thanks to Facebook!”
Then Aesha said, “I was friends with some of the older cricket players, because I always loved cricket and sports and everything, and then he had seen a photo of me in a boxing ring and he tried to add me. Straight away, 5 minutes into accepting him. He was like chatting with me and I was like wow.”
Shikhar and Aesha tied the knot in 2012. Before the marriage, they had to face a few challenges as Shikhar’s family didn’t accept their relations as Aesha was a divorcee, mother of two daughters and ten years older from Shikhar. However, they managed to cross those obstacles and now they are happily married. They have a four-year-old son, Zoravar Dhawan.
Shikhar is currently the regular opening batsman in Indian cricket in every format. Making his international cricket debut in 2010, the left-handed opening batsman has played 34 Tests, 109 ODIs and 40 T20Is for the Indian cricket team where he has scored 2,315 runs (average 40.61), 4,808 runs (average 47.13) and 977 runs (average 26.40) respectively.
