According to the recent reports of India Today, it has been revealed that the young Chennai Super Kings (CSK) player, Ruturaj Gaikwad has become the second player from the franchise after the fast bowler, Deepak Chahar to test positive for the novel coronavirus in Dubai, weeks ahead of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020.
Earlier, Chahar was among at least 12 members of the contingents of the Chennai-based franchise who tested positive for Covid-19 on Friday in Dubai. It also has to be noted that CSK was the only team of the eight franchises that held a camp in India before departing to UAE.

The news broken by the veteran Indian sports journalist Vikrant Gupta took to Twitter and wrote, “IPL Breaking: One more Chennai player has tested positive. This time it’s Ruturaj Gaikwad”.

CSK were scheduled to commence there training session in Dubai on Friday but now have the complete contingent has been forced to undergo self-isolation for another week. The schedule for IPL 2020 is yet to be announced and it was expected to be announced in a week’s time.

Now, it is highly likely that CSK will be playing the tournament opener against defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) on September 19. Before leaving for UAE, two of the veteran CSK players, MS Dhoni And Suresh Raina had announced retirrement from international cricket on August 15. While Dhoni’s retirement was an expected one for the fans but Raina making teh same annoucement just a few minustes after the former was completely shocking forns tah fans and teh cricketing fraternity.
Earlier on Staursday, Rain made his himself unavalble for the IPL 2020 due to personal reasons as confirmed by the franchise on Twitter.
