At a time when the Indian people are going through the deadly second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic that has inflicted a lot of pain to people, the cricketers are making contributions to society. Also, the likes of Shikhar Dhawan and Jaydev Unadkat have made contributions from the IPL salary towards India’s fight against Covid-19. And, Ajinkya Rahane has come forward and contributed to India’s battle against Covid-19. The official handle of MCCIA has confirmed that Rahane has contributed 30 oxygen concentrators to support Mission Vayu. The MCCIA handle concluded their tweet by acknowledging that these will be sent to the most affected districts of Maharashtra.

“Thank you so much Ajinkya Rahane for your additional contribution of 30 Oxygen Concentrators to Mission Vayu. We will send these to the most affected districts of Maharashtra,” read the tweet from MCCIA.

On the cricketing front, Ajinkya Rahane has been plying his trade for the Delhi Capitals’ (DC) side. He has played just a couple of games for the team in IPL 2021. While he did not get a chance to bat in the match against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) side, Rahane scored a run-a-ball 8 against Rajasthan Royals (RR). After that, Rahane has been dropped from the squad.

Rahane is a veteran of IPL cricket. He has played as many as 151 games and scored more than 4000 runs in the IPL at an average of 31.53 and at a strike rate of 121.34. He has also scored 2 hundreds and 28 fifties in his IPL career.
