After retirement from all forms of cricket, Ajinkya Rahane named his best batting partners across formats. In a video on his Hindi YouTube channel, Ajinkya Rahane was asked about his best batting partner and he picked Test legend Rahul Dravid in
the T20 format. The duo scored 1145 runs in 32 innings at an average of 35.78 as an opening pair for the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL between 2011 and 2013 as well.

In the 50-over format, he picked former India teammates Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma as well. As an opening pair in ODIs, Rahane and Dhawan scored 1153 runs from 18 innings at an average of 64.05. In Tests, he picked Virat Kohli. The duo made 3661 runs in 67 innings at an average of 56.32 with ten 100-plus stands as well.

“In T20, my best partner, I feel I batted a lot with Dravid in RR, so he is one. When I was in CSK, Gaikwad and Conway. In ODI, Shikhar and Rohit, I had many partnerships with them. In Test, everyone knows about Virat and my match-winning partnerships and in different conditions,” he said.

Ajinkya Rahane was also asked to name his favourite teammates, to which he picked Rohit Sharma and pacer Umesh Yadav. Rahane particularly described his experience with Umesh.

“My favourite teammate is Rohit, as we have played a lot together. There is Umesh Yadav as well, we have been playing together since India A and have a good friendship, and we used to go out for dinners and coffee too. I have spent a lot of time with these two, be it Mumbai cricket, club cricket, or India A matches,” he concluded.
