The outbreak of the COVID-19 virus has affected the world severely. It has brought the world to a standstill with many countries being completely lockdown for safety and to contain the spread of the virus. With no cricket going on, all the cricketers have a lot of free time on their hands right now. Many cricketers have also been proactive on their social media in the past few weeks due to the lockdown. India’s Test vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane joined hands with his new IPL team Delhi Capitals for an Instagram Live session.
Speaking during the same, Ajinkya Rahane recalled his partnership with Virat Kohli against Australia in 2014. The duo stood tall and stitched up a crucial his 262-run stand at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. Rahane recalls how he walked in with a positive mindset and planned for scoring runs as the ball was old.

“Frankly when I was seating inside the dressing room, Virat and Murali Vijay were batting, and then when I went out to bat, our score was 170 for 3. The ball had become old till then. I was thinking about how can I attack and score runs. I was not thinking about surviving. When I went, initially I took my time for 25-30 minutes. Once I got to know about the wicket, our communication backed our instincts,” Rahane spoke.
In that innings, Kohli hit a 169 off 272 balls while Rahane struck 147 in 171 balls as India snatched a draw on The Boxing Day Test.

If not for the Corona Virus pandemic, Rahane and Kohli would be busy representing their IPL franchises respectively. However, they will have to wait as the IPL has been indefinitely postponed because of Corona’s outbreak.
