Ajinkya Rahane Unveils World-Class Cricket Academy In Mumbai

Ajinkya Rahane, the skipper of the Mumbai cricket team and one of India’s most revered cricketers, recently took to social media to express his gratitude and excitement about a special project close to his heart. In a heartfelt message, Rahane announced the establishment of a world-class cricket academy and sports facility in Mumbai.

The academy, which aims to nurture the next generation of athletes, is set to be a hub for aspiring cricketers and other sportspersons, providing top-tier coaching, facilities, and guidance. While Ajinkya Rahane didn’t reveal too many specifics about the academy, he made sure to thank the key people who helped turn his dream into reality.

Ajinkya Rahane expressed his deep appreciation to Maharashtra’s Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy CMs Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, and BCCI Treasurer Ashish Shelar for their unwavering support. Their involvement played a crucial role in bringing this ambitious vision to life.

Rahane’s message on X (formerly Twitter) read: “This academy will empower young sportspersons with top-notch facilities and guidance, fostering the next generation of champions in the city where my own cricketing journey began. Grateful for your encouragement & leadership, inspiring a brighter future for Maharashtra!”

Apart from his philanthropic pursuits, Rahane remains active on the cricket field. He is set to lead Mumbai in the upcoming Irani Cup 2024-25, where the team will take on the Rest of India in Lucknow. Including India stars Shreyas Iyer and Shardul Thakur will further strengthen his squad. The match will take place at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium from October 1.

Recently, Rahane showcased his form during his stint with Leicestershire in England’s One-Day Cup, amassing 378 runs across 10 innings. In the County Championship’s second division, his standout performance came against Glamorgan, where he scored 102 in one of his innings, continuing to prove his value as a seasoned cricketer.
