Ajinkya Rahane showcased his brilliance on the field with a stunning catch to dismiss Sunrisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) Ishan Kishan during the 15th match of IPL 2025 at Eden Gardens on April 3. The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) skipper’s sharp reflexes and agility were on full display as he pulled off a sensational grab in the covers.

Kishan, who began his IPL journey with SRH in emphatic fashion by smashing a century, has struggled since then. His recent scores of 0, 2, and 2 reflect his rough patch, and against KKR, his struggles continued. Facing Vaibhav Arora in the third over, Kishan attempted a lofted drive, but his mistimed shot found Rahane, who dived to his left to complete a spectacular catch.

After steady contributions from Rahane and Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Venkatesh Iyer stole the show with a blistering 60 off 29 balls. Rinku Singh’s unbeaten 32 also played a key role in KKR’s acceleration, adding 78 runs in the final five overs.

On the other hand, SRH will be disappointed with their bowling execution, especially in the death overs. At 122-4 after 15 overs, they were in a strong position to restrict KKR below 180. However, a lack of discipline and Cummins’ puzzling decision to underutilize his spinners allowed KKR to shift the momentum in their favor.
