Young Akash Deep had to be captivated by Bumrah’s mastery, not to say this young new face in the international scene was asking for much.

Akash Deep spoke in a recent interview, when he said: “Bumrah is such a creation so unique that it feels he has been crafted by the divine. I regularly talk to him and observe his bowling. Woh (Jasprit Bumrah) bilkul alag hain, bhagwaan ne unhe alag hi banaaya hai (he’s completely different, God has made him different),” Akash said, as quoted by India Today.

Akash Deep underlined how he was seeking suggestions from Bumrah, mainly at the bowling strategy and mentality. “I discussed ‘mindset’ with him once, especially when bowling to specific batters, and he gave me valuable tips and insights.”

His tributes didn’t stop there. He spoke about the brilliance and intelligence that separate Bumrah, and how it isn’t easy to enter his shoes or try to replicate his success. “His ability to read a batter before bowling is amazing. He’s such a knowledgeable person, and it shows in the bowling. It is not easy to follow in his footsteps,” he added.

Since returning from a back injury in August 2023, Bumrah hasn’t just picked up the dots: he’s decimating them. He earned his reputation as a perennial talent at the 50-over World Cup by finishing fourth on the list of wicket-takers.
