In further progress, Dananjaya’s bowling action will be scrutinised under the ICC process. The Sri Lankan off-spinner will have to undergo testing within next 14 days. However, he can still bowl in the international cricket till the test results have come out.

That news was posted on the official ICC Media twitter account and it said, “Akila Dananjaya has been reported with a suspect bowling action. Dananjaya is required to undergo testing within 14 days and, during this period, he is permitted to continue bowling in international cricket until the results of the testing are known. #SLvENG @OfficialSLC”

The first Test of the three-match home Test series against England was Rangana Herath’s last Test match where Dananjaya picked up a total of two wickets (1/96 & 1/87). Sri Lanka lost that game by 211 runs after scoring 203 and 250 runs respectively in the reply of England’s 342 and 322/6 decl.

Dananjaya made his international cricket debut in September 2012, just before completing the 19 years old. He has played four Tests, 30 ODIs and 16 T20Is where he has picked up a total of 79 wickets in the international career (19 Test wickets, 46 ODI wickets and 14 T20I wickets).
