In the second T20I of the five-match series between India and the West Indies, pacer Alzarri Joseph showcased his brilliance with a stunning yorker that cleaned up the India captain Hardik Pandya. The West Indies had won the first game by 4 runs, successfully defending their score of 149.
The hosts delivered an impressive performance, particularly from PoTM Jason Holder and Akeal Hosein, while skipper Rovman Powell’s 48-run innings was pivotal, supported by Nicholas Pooran (41) and Brandon King (28). Opting to bat first after winning the toss, India set a target of 152/7 on the board, thanks to Tilak Varma’s half-century. Hardik Pandya also contributed with a crucial 24 runs off 18 balls but was dismissed by Joseph’s exceptional delivery.
In the 18th over’s last ball, Joseph delivered a perfect yorker at the base of the off-stump. Despite Pandya’s attempt to play it towards deep third, the delivery castled him.

At the toss, Hardik Pandya expressed that his side didn’t make many mistakes in the first T20I, which they lost. He mentioned their focus on learning from those mistakes and moving forward: “We will bat first, the surface looks good. We will put a good score on the board. I don’t think we did much wrong in the last game, we spoke about it and the focus is to learn and keep going ahead.”
He further added, “When we have these totals, you gotta keep wickets in hand and that’s what happened in the last game where we lost a couple of wickets during crunch moments. We have a forced change. Kuldeep got a hit on the hand yesterday in the nets, it is not serious and just a precautionary measure. Ravi Bishnoi comes in place of him.”
The match holds significant importance for both teams as India aims to level the series with a victory in the second T20I.
