Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are locking horns with each other in the 38th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The veteran CSK batter, Ambati Rayudu came out with his ferocious best when he smashed three back-to-back sixes off Sandeep Sharma in the 16th over of the second innings.

Earlier in the game, CSK skipper, Ravindra Jadeja decided to bowl first will the hope of dew in the second innings. Chennai decided to go with the same XI from their last match as they don’t want to disturb the winning combination. A solid knock of 88* from Shikhar Dhawan helped PBKS post a formidable 187/4 in 20 overs against CSK.

Dhawan paced his innings quite well to put pressure on the CSK bowlers. He shared a massive 110-run stand with Bhanuka Rajapaksa for the second wicket, who scored 42 runs off 32 balls. For CSK, DJ Bravo took a couple of wickets. During the chase, CSK lost Robin Uthappa, and Mitchell Stantner in the powerplay itself.

Ambati Rayudu and Ruturaj Gaikwad formed a decent partnership of 49 runs for the 4th wicket but they failed to increase the momentum in the middle overs, as a result, CSK required 70 runs off the last 6 overs, with Rayudu batting at 53 off 29 balls. Sandeep Sharma came out to bowl the 16th over and he was under pressure.

Ambati Rayudu had decided to go bonkers against Sharma as he smashed as many as three back-to-back sixes of the bowler. The first one went in the long-on region, the second one went over backward square leg, and the last one Rayudu smashed over the third man region.
