Chennai Super Kings (CSK) cricketer, Ambati Rayudu, currently part of the Andhra team in domestic cricket, is expected to play for Baroda in the upcoming season. According to the latest reports in the Times of India, Rayudu will join Baroda Cricket Association (BCA) camp scheduled to be starting after June this year and afterward begin playing for the group in the forthcoming season. This is the second time that Ambati will play for Baroda.
Confirming the same, BCA CEO Shishir Hattangadi said, “Ambati, a member of CSK in the Indian Premier League, had approached us and expressed his desire to play for Baroda. After discussion, the BCA’s apex council agreed to rope him in for the Baroda team.”
Ambati Rayudu will be expected to help Baroda to come up with a better team after their forgettable outing in the last Ranji season. Baroda all-rounder Deepak Hooda quit the group last year after he was restricted by the BCA on disciplinary grounds.

Hooda had left the Baroda team right ahead of a pivotal T20 competition last year after a verbal disagreement with Krunal Pandya. An experienced player like Hardik Pandya was not able to play for Baroda in Ranji Trophy in the last season, while Krunal Pandya also played in just one match.
Talking about the same, BCA secretary, Ajit Lele said, “Baroda currently has very few senior players and Ambati’s inclusion will help the team get a balance. We need an experienced player like him to mentor the players and also perform in the team.”

Ambati Rayudu has played for Baroda in seasons prior in his profession when he was picked for India in 2013. The 36-year-old is supposed to join the Baroda preliminary camp in June.
In November last year, Krunal stepped down as the captain of Baroda after their terrible performance in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy. Ambati Rayudu had joined the Baroda cricket team earlier in the 2010-11 season and played for four seasons. Subsequent to giving a decent execution in the team, Ambati was even selected for the Indian group in 2013.
