As far as his IPL career is concerned, on 17th April 2013 in season 6 of IPL, he took a hat-trick while playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad against Pune Warriors India as well. With this hat-trick, he became the first player in IPL history to take three hat-tricks as well. He has earlier taken a hat-trick in IPL 2008 while playing for Delhi Daredevils against Deccan Chargers and then again he did in IPL 2011 while playing for Deccan Chargers against Kings XI Punjab as well.
However, Amit Mishra had suffered a finger injury during Delhi Capitals’ win over KKR in Sharjah. He bowled only 2 overs before walking off the field as well. Moreover, he has removed Rohit Sharma the most number of times in IPL and also equalled Zaheer and Sandeep’s record for removing a batsman the most number of times in the cash-rich league as well.
He has played for Delhi Daredevils in IPL 2015, IPL 2016, and IPL 2017. In January 2018, Delhi Daredevils bought him in the auction and he was retained for the 2019 season as well. In the 2020 IPL, Amit Mishra started brilliantly with 3 wickets at an economy rate of 7.20 as well. However, Amit Mishra is the third-highest wicket-taker in Indian Premier League history after the legendary Lasith Malinga (170 wickets) and Dwayne Bravo (170 wickets).
