Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the iconic former Indian cricket captain, has found a new connection with Mother Nature in his retirement years. Post his international cricket career, Dhoni has gravitated towards the tranquility of nature, residing with his family on a picturesque farmhouse in his hometown of Ranchi. On this idyllic abode, he’s ventured into the world of organic farming, passionately tending to the land. Given his deep affinity for agriculture, Anand Mahindra, the chairman of the Mahindra Group, has enlisted the World Cup-winning skipper as the brand ambassador for Swaraj Tractors, a significant move in the realm of agricultural machinery.

Anand Mahindra, known not only for his business acumen but also for his engaging social media presence, extended a warm and humorous welcome to Dhoni through a post on Twitter, now known as X. He playfully noted, “Mahi and Mahindra, when it’s already in the name, means our paths were always meant to cross,” underscoring the serendipity of the collaboration.

Interestingly, MS Dhoni was already a “proud owner” of a Swaraj Tractor, a choice that stemmed from his newfound interest in farming, particularly ignited during the COVID-19 pandemic. Expressing his satisfaction with the product, Dhoni stated, “I realized we need farm mechanization to save time and we require a powerful tractor to do the job. This led me to choose Swaraj. I am extremely happy with the product and now to be formally associated with it.”

The official X account of Swaraj Tractor echoed this sentiment in an announcement, affirming, “Who better to be the face of Swaraj, than someone who owns, uses, and loves the tractor? We are delighted to welcome MS Dhoni, a proud Swaraj Tractor owner to our family. We are excited to see a great innings on the farm field too.”

In a heartwarming flashback, Dhoni had shared a video in February, showing him expertly maneuvering a Swaraj Tractor on his Ranchi farmhouse. This post marked his return to social media after a hiatus of over 100 weeks. The video depicted Dhoni learning the intricacies of tractor operation and swiftly graduating to single-handedly plowing a section of the field. His caption humorously read, “Nice to learn something new but took way too long to finish the work.”

This farming interlude came a few months ahead of the 2023 IPL season, where Dhoni would lead the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their quest for a fifth title. Despite grappling with a knee injury during the campaign, Dhoni’s unwavering commitment and astute captaincy enriched CSK’s journey, showcasing his enduring influence in the sport.
