The Andhra Pradesh government has announced a significant reward for young spinner Shree Charani, acknowledging her crucial role in India’s historic maiden Women’s World Cup triumph in 2025. In a gesture that reflects the pride of the entire state, Charani will receive a ₹2.5 crore cash prize, a prestigious Group-I government job, and a 1,000 sq. yard residential plot in her hometown, Kadapa.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu made the announcement shortly after meeting the rising star upon her return from Delhi. Praising her contributions to India’s World Cup victory, Naidu described her success as a moment of immense honour for Andhra Pradesh.
During a small felicitation ceremony, Charani spoke warmly about her experience of being part of India’s first-ever 50-over Women’s World Cup-winning squad.

Sree Charani’s rise to this stage has been nothing short of inspiring.
