The ongoing clash between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru witnessed an explosive display of batting prowess, courtesy of Australian all-rounder Cameron Green. Green’s aggressive batting onslaught left KKR’s bowlers reeling as he mercilessly dispatched deliveries to all corners of the park. His ferocious hitting, particularly targeting bowlers like Sunil Narine and Andre Russell, kept the pressure squarely on the opposition.

In a memorable moment, Green launched Russell for a towering six, showcasing his intent to dominate. However, Russell had the last laugh as he produced a delivery that deceived Green completely. A full delivery angled into the pads proved fatal for Green, as he missed the ball entirely, resulting in his dismissal.

Despite Green’s departure, his impactful innings had already bolstered RCB’s position, providing crucial momentum after the early loss of skipper Faf du Plessis. Green’s knock of 33 runs off 21 balls, featuring 4 fours and 2 sixes, propelled RCB past the 100-run mark with ease.

Following Cameron Green’s departure, Glenn Maxwell took up the mantle, continuing the assault on KKR’s bowlers. Despite surviving dropped catches, Maxwell maintained a brisk scoring rate, ensuring RCB’s innings remained formidable.

However, Glenn Maxwell’s cameo came to an end when he fell victim to Sunil Narine’s bowling prowess. A delivery induced a thick top-edge from Maxwell, resulting in an easy catch for Rinku Singh at sweeper cover.

Maxwell’s innings of 28 runs off 19 balls, including three boundaries and a six, further bolstered RCB’s total. Notably, this marked the fourth occasion in T20 cricket that Narine had dismissed Maxwell.

As RCB’s innings progressed, the onus shifted to Virat Kohli, who continued his fine form with his second successive half-century of the season. With Kohli at the crease, RCB aims to capitalize on the strong foundation laid by Green and Maxwell, seeking to post a formidable total on the scoreboard.
