The year 2020 has nothing short of delightful for the flamboyant West Indies all-rounder, Andre Russell. Just a few days ago, he lifted the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) trophy and he has now been blessed with a baby girl. On Thursday, the hard-hitting allrounder took to Instagram to confirm the birth of his daughter with wife Jassym Lora.

This child is the first for the couple who got hitched three years ago. Russell and his better half have named the newborn Amaiah Russell. Russell decided to announce the arrival of the newborn to his fans through Instagram. He took to the social media platform to post an adorable picture of his holding his baby girl’s hands.

Announcing the birth of the baby girl, Russell captioned: “Another #blessing welcoming Amaiah S Russell to the world! God is good all the time. Thanks god for my strong Queen @jassymloraru #daddysbabygirl”.

Russell, nonetheless, has started 2020 in a stunning manner as he kept himself busy playing franchise cricket across the globe. He recently turned up for Rajshahi Royals and helped them win the BPL. The star allrounder, in fact, was the Man of the Match in the final as he lifted his first T20 trophy as captain.

His 16-ball 27 runs knock helped his team to reach a competitive total of 170 in the allotted 20 overs against Khulna Tigers. He then impressed with the ball by picking up 2 wickets for 32 runs as Royals restricted Tigers to 149 for 8. Russell was also the Man of the Tournament thanks to his usual all-round displays in the competition.

With the bat, Russell scored 225 runs at a strike-rate of 180 in addition to picking up an impressive 14 wickets. In the second qualifier, he came up with one of the best knocks of the competition when he slammed 54* off just 22 balls to help his side win the match against Chattogram Challengers and make it to the final.
