The flamboyant Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) all-rounder, Andre Russell has suffered an injury scare during a botched attempt to catch KXIP skipper KL Rahul during Saturday’s encounter against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in Abu Dhabi. The incident occurred during the 2nd over of Kings XI Punjab innings after KL Rahul miscued a straight lofted stroke off Prasidh Krishna.
Russell, in an attempt to take the catch, ran back to not only spill it but to add insult to injury, he proceeded to dive on the electronic boards thus injuring himself. The swashbuckling all-rounder was then taken off the field for some treatment. His injury rounded off what has been a forgettable day for the all-rounder so far. Earlier in the day, his woes with the bat continued as he was dismissed for a three-ball five courtesy a brilliant wide yorker by Arshdeep Singh.
