The Indian skipper, Virat Kohli is the only batsman to maintain 50+ average across all formats and is on his way to attaining the status of an all-time great thanks to his exploits with the bat. The Indian skipper is currently labeled one of the best modern-era batsmen and he has the numbers to back the claim as well.

Kohli has also adapted well to the shortest format of the game, a notion he broke with alarming regularities in the 2016 edition of Indian Premier League (IPL), when smoked 973 runs with four centuries in the one season and took the team to the finals of the competition.

In a recent interview, Russell talked about the difference between his style and that of Virat Kohli’s. Praising the indin skipper, Russel said, “He (Virat) is a tremendous player. Sometimes, you may have to put five-ten words together to actually describe him as a player. He is such a determined guy.”

Russell, who is playing at the T10 League, further added, “Virat is a true champion. I just hope that he can keep entertaining the fans. He has been performing well in Test cricket, ODIs and T20I cricket. He is a proper all-round player. Virat’s technique is a lot different from mine. It’s more classical than mine. I am a more awkward batter where my technique is not that smooth. My technique is all about power and brute force. I try to hit the ball as hard as possible of every delivery I face.”

The fiery all-rounder further mentioned that the two-time and current T20 World Champions West Indies will go into the 2020 tournament under big pressure to defend their title.
