Angkrish Raghuvanshi, the 18-year-old prodigy, finally got his moment under the spotlight after being sidelined in the previous game against Royal Challengers Bangalore. His opportunity came against the Delhi Capitals, where he showcased his talent batting at No. 3 after the early dismissal of opener Phil Salt.
During his innings, lasting nearly nine overs, Raghuvanshi displayed remarkable composure and skill, undeterred by the pressure. Partnering with the seasoned campaigner Sunil Narine, he unleashed a spectacular display of stroke-making, hammering a blazing 54 off just 27 balls, embellished with five boundaries and three maximums.
In a post-match interview shared on the official Indian Premier League account, Raghuvanshi credited his coach, Abhishek Nayar, for his guidance since the tender age of 11. He attributed his adeptness at reverse sweeps, showcased in the match against Delhi Capitals, to Nayar’s meticulous training. Expressing his gratitude, Raghuvanshi hailed Nayar as the “main man” behind his success, alongside acknowledging the support of his teammates and the franchise’s staff.

“I would like to dedicate this knock to my coach, Abhishek Nayar, and my teammates and the support staff. I have learned a lot staying with them. Abhishek sir has been working with me since my childhood. All this reverse sweep and all, he made me practice a lot. So, the main man is him only,” shared Angkrish Raghuvanshi.
