Anushka Sharma And Virat Kohli Extend Support For Covid Relief

The Indian skipper, Virat Kohli, and his wife Anushka Sharma have joined hands to extend their support in the country’s fight against the COVID-19. Anushka, who turned 33 on Saturday (May 1), took to Instagram to share the update of the same with her fans. The couple will soon share the details of how others can join them in the movement.

In the video, Anushka was heard saying, “Hello everyone, I hope you all are safe. I just wanted to say a big thank you for all the lovely birthday wishes. You truly made my day special. But in the midst of all this pain and suffering, it did not feel right to celebrate my birthday. But I have seen your special messages to me and now I have an important message for you.”

She further added, “I would like to appeal to everyone to unite and support our country in this hour or crisis. Virat and I are coming together to do our bit. We will share the details soon so that you can also become part of this movement. Remember we are all in this together. Guys, please stay safe and take care of yourself.”

 

Last year as well, the star couple had come forward and donated a huge chunk during the first phase of lockdown. They will once again step up in the fight against COVID-19 and do their bit. Anushka is with Virat in the Royal Challengers Bangalore’s bio-bubble in Ahmedabad.

India is currently witnessing the second wave of COVID-19 and more than 3.5 lakh cases have been emerging regularly. The country also witnessed over 4 lakh cases a day before. There is also an acute shortage of oxygen and other medical equipment in the country.

Recently, KKR fast bowler, Pat Cummins donated a sum of $50000 to PM Cares Fund. Brett Lee, who is in India for commentary duties, donated 1 bitcoin (approximately ₹40 lakhs). Apart from them, Sachin Tendulkar, Jaydev Unadkat, Nicholas Pooran, Ajinkya Rahane, Hardik and Krunal Pandya have also contributed to various funds.
