Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma has started preparing for her upcoming biopic to be made on the life and cricketing journey of Indian woman cricketer, Jhulan Goswami. The movie titled ‘Chakda Xpress’ is all set to go on floors this year. The lead actress recently took to her Instagram to give the fans a sneak peek into her preparations.
Anushka Sharma, in the post, appears to be perfecting her grip on the cricket ball as well as her bowling action. The Instagram post has garnered much attention with Goswami commenting on it herself. Goswami commented “Very nice 👍 👏🙌” on the actress’s post.

The biopic is likely to cover the senior Indian pacer’s journey coming up the ranks to play for the country. According to its IMDb page, the movie is inspired by the challenges Goswami faced during her way towards the international cricket.

The cricketer since making her debut in 2002 has represented India in more than 300 international matches across formats. She has scalped as many as 345 wickets so far and is soon to be playing in her fifth World Cup come March.

The first teaser of the film which is to be helmed by director Prosit Roy had released on January 6th, 2022. Notably, the movie was supposed to come out in 2021 but the pandemic forced the producers to hold it for a while. Anushka Sharma, who was supposed to play Goswami when the script was in its inception stage, had reportedly opted out of the film earlier. However, she has since returned with her playing the title character now finalized.
Interestingly, the actress who made her film debut in 2008, is also married to a cricketer in former Indian skipper, Virat Kohli. Chakda Xpress is to be produced by Anushka Sharma and her brother, Karnesh Sharma, under their production company, Clean Slate Filmz.
