Arjun Tendulkar has been named Mumbai’s U-19 squad for the upcoming JY Lele Invitational tournament. He was recently part of India U-19 for two four-day games against Sri Lanka U-19. The son of the legendary batsman, Sachin Tendulkar will play for Mumbai in the 6th All India Under-19 Late Shri J.Y. Lele Invitational one day tournament which will be played in Baroda.
Suved Parkar has been named as the captain of the 16-member squad which was announced by Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) on Tuesday. Arjun was recently part of the India U-19 for two four-day games against Sri Lanka U-19 in July. However, he was not named in the one-day squad for the tour.
Recently, BCCI announced three U-19 squads recently and Tendulkar failed to find a berth in any of them. They will be locking horns with Nepal ‘A’ and Afghanistan ‘A’ in a quadrangular series in Lucknow.

The U-19 tournament will be an opportunity for Arjun to find a spot in the Mumbai senior team in the ongoing season. Arjun has recently seen bowling to the Indian team at the nets before the second Test at Lord’s. He has even witnessed the ground staff when rain intervened in the game and selling radios outside the stadium which earned him praise from a veteran cricketer like Harbhajan Singh.
Tendulkar Jr. will now be looking forward to learning a thing or two from his father as he must be waiting to compete at the higher levels.
