Son of the legendary Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar, Arjun Tendulkar scalped four wickets against Railways in the Cooch Behar Trophy (Under-19) inter-state cricket tournament.

Mumbai completely dominated the proceedings with the help of Yashasvi Jaiswal’s 218 and Abhimanyu Vashishtha (8/30) stepped up their game at the Sachin Tendulkar Gymkhana. Mumbai was bundled out for 389 on the opening day of the match.

Railway’s got all-out for 150 courtesy Vashistha’s eight-wicket haul. Following on, Railways ended the day on 124/7, still needing 115 runs to make Mumbai bat again. Tendulkar was impressive and hardly gave any lollies to the opposition.

Tendulkar jr. is grabbing eyeballs for some time now. He has rubbed shoulders with many of the former cricketing greats and has been a part of practice sessions. Earlier this year, former Aussie pacer Glenn McGrath spoke about the promising youngster. On knowing that Sachin’s son is a pacer, McGrath was pleasantly surprised, he said, ”Sachin’s (Tendulkar) son? How old is he now (17), similar age to my son? I haven’t seen him bowl yet and keen to see how he goes, but he must do Ok. When the MRF (pace academy) started, one of the first guys to come along was Sachin.”
