Army Paratroopers to Give the Balls to the Captains at Eden Gardens

India are currently preparing for the pink-ball Test in Indore. After thrashing Bangladesh in the first test, they are gearing up for the second one which is going to be the First-ever Day-night Test at Eden in Kolkata. The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) and BCCI chief, Sourav Ganguly are trying their best to make it successful. And, now there is news that Army paratroopers will also be there in the historic Test.

Ganguly has invited a lot of people for the game which will begin from the 22nd of November. Moreover, the match inauguration bell will be rung by Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and also West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee.

Recently, Avishek Dalmiya, the secretary of CAB also shared that on Day 1 of the game, Army Paratroopers will fly in the sky with two pink balls and they will give one each to the captains of both the teams. The Army will also play the anthems of both countries as well. Even during the tea break, the former captains will be seen giving rounds along the boundary line.

“The paratroopers will fly into the wicket with two pink balls. We have discussed the plans with the Army (Eastern Command),” Avishek Dalmiya said as quoted by India Today.

“This will be shown on the giant screen. It will be clearly audible to the spectators. All the sellable tickets were already sold out online. We are now have left with a limited number of quota tickets. Now it remains to be seen if they will take them or not. We will only be able to evaluate on November 19,” he concluded.
