In a heated moment during the Duleep Trophy, Indian left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh was caught in a rare display of frustration, aimed at his senior teammate Sanju Samson. The incident unfolded during India A’s first innings when Arshdeep, representing India D, was bowling to Khaleel Ahmed. Samson, who was behind the stumps, found himself at the centre of a misunderstanding that cost Arshdeep a crucial wicket.

On the first ball of the 78th over, Khaleel Ahmed edged Arshdeep’s delivery, sending the ball between Samson and Devdutt Padikkal at first slip. It was the kind of catch that a wicketkeeper typically goes for, but in this case, Samson hesitated, possibly assuming Padikkal would take the catch.

Conversely, Padikkal seemed to anticipate that Samson would handle it. As a result, neither went for the ball, allowing it to slip through and race to the boundary for four runs. The missed opportunity visibly frustrated Arshdeep, who was heard expressing his displeasure with some choice words directed toward his teammates.

While this moment of tension between the players caught attention, the focus soon shifted back to the game. India A, having been reduced to 93 for 5 at one stage, recovered thanks to impressive fifties from Shams Mulani (89) and Tanush Kotian (53), reaching a competitive 290 in the first innings. For India D, Harshit Rana stood out with 4 wickets, while Arshdeep Singh and Vidhwath Kaverappa claimed two each.

In response, India D struggled to 183 all out, with Devdutt Padikkal’s 92 being the only notable contribution. India A declared their second innings at 380 for 3, setting up a comfortable win by bowling India D out for 301, sealing the match by 186 runs. Despite the on-field friction, the match ended with a commanding performance from India A.
