Indian pacer Arshdeep Singh has been a standout performer in the ongoing T20 World Cup, demonstrating remarkable skill and consistency. In India’s recent match against Australia, Arshdeep showcased his talent by claiming three wickets, with two of them coming in his final over. Reflecting on his success in the tournament, Arshdeep credited fellow pacer Jasprit Bumrah for playing a significant role. According to Arshdeep, Bumrah’s ability to create pressure has allowed him to capitalize on opportunities and take wickets.

The cricketer from Guna elaborated on how batters tend to take more risks against him after facing Bumrah’s economical bowling. He explained that Bumrah typically concedes only three to four runs per over, compelling batsmen to adopt a more aggressive approach when facing him. This strategy often results in mistakes, providing Arshdeep with chances to take wickets.

“A lot of credit goes to Jasprit because he puts a lot of pressure on the batters. He gives what, three or four runs in an over. So, batsmen are coming hard against me, and when they are trying, I just have to try and bowl my best ball. There are a lot of chances of getting wickets because, on the other hand, they see the runs are not coming, and the asking rate is going high,” Arshdeep said in an interview with India Today.

“So, they take more risks against me, and there’s always a chance of getting a wicket. So a lot of credit for my wickets goes to Jasprit,” he added.

They are set to face England in the semi-final at Providence Stadium in Guyana on June 27.
