In the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) faced a challenging match against the Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. The 69th game of the tournament saw SRH’s Travis Head struggling to make an impact.

After conceding a hefty total of 214 runs, SRH’s innings got off to a disastrous start. Travis Head, who has been a standout performer in IPL 2024, fell victim to a brilliant delivery by Arshdeep Singh on the very first ball of the second innings. Arshdeep, delivering a good-length ball that held its line, saw Head rooted to the crease and unable to bring his bat down in time.

The ball skidded through, sneaking under his bat to hit the off-stump, sending Head back to the pavilion. This was the second occasion in IPL 2024 where Arshdeep Singh managed to dismiss Travis Head, showcasing his knack for delivering crucial breakthroughs. With the early dismissal, SRH faced a significant setback right at the beginning of their chase.

Rahul Tripathi, in particular, scored a quick 33 runs, ensuring the team’s momentum was maintained despite the initial blow. Earlier in the match, Punjab Kings had set a formidable target thanks to stellar performances from their batsmen. Prabhsimran Singh and Atharva Taide laid a solid foundation with an aggressive opening partnership of 97 runs.
