India’s premier spinner R Ashwin was quick to adapt to the English conditions as he bowled a match-winning spell in the 2nd innings of his first County match for Worcestershire on Thursday.
Ashwin helped his team to register a thumping win in the English County Championship at home against Gloucestershire with his 8-wicket haul. Worcestershire registered a huge victory of 189 runs and that helped them to regain the 2nd spot in the Second Division.
The talented spinner took eight wickets in the match and five for 68 in the second innings and walked off to a standing ovation from the crowd at New Road, Worcester after Gloucestershire were dismissed for 211.
Indian all-rounder also displayed his all-round abilities with his batting in both the innings as he scored 36 and 28 in the respective innings.
