Both Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah played pivotal roles in India’s emphatic victory against Australia in the first Test in Perth, earning praise for their performances. Ahead of the Pink-ball Test in Adelaide, India will participate in a two-day warm-up match against the Prime Minister’s XI.

Prime Minister Albanese met with both teams during the event, posing for photos with the captains and even capturing a group selfie with the entire Indian squad. The candid moment quickly became a viral sensation on social media, highlighting the camaraderie between the teams and the warm gesture by the Australian leader.

India enters the second Test with high confidence after a commanding 295-run victory in Perth. However, the Pink-ball Test in Adelaide brings its own set of challenges. Australia has an impeccable record in Day-Night Tests, and memories of India’s collapse for just 36 runs in their last Pink-ball Test against the hosts linger.

Nevertheless, the Indian team is optimistic and eager to carry their momentum forward to secure a 2-0 lead in the five-match series. Captain Rohit Sharma is set to return to the XI, replacing Devdutt Padikkal, while uncertainties surround Shubman Gill’s availability.

Shubman Gill is reportedly recovering well but might not be fit in time. If unavailable, KL Rahul will likely continue at number three, with Jurel maintaining his spot lower in the order. However, should Gill return, Rahul may have to step aside.

Meanwhile, Australia has brought in Tasmania all-rounder Beau Webster as a precautionary replacement for the injured Mitchell Marsh. Webster is expected to strengthen the hosts’ line-up, adding depth to their batting and bowling. As both teams prepare for the high-stakes clash, the Adelaide Test promises to be an intense battle under the lights.
