Star Indian all-rounder Axar Patel recently delighted fans by sharing a heartwarming video across his social media channels, announcing that he and his wife, Meha, are expecting their first child. Axar tied the knot with Meha in a lavish ceremony in Vadodara in January 2023, and the couple is now set to embark on a new chapter in their lives as parents.

Axar was last seen in action during India’s two-match Test series against Bangladesh, although he did not feature in either game held in Chennai and Kanpur. He has also been rested for the ongoing three-match T20I series between India and Bangladesh.

The news of his impending fatherhood follows a hint he dropped on a recent appearance on “The Great Indian Kapil Show,” where he playfully mentioned that good news might be on the way. Axar’s video, shared with the caption “A great joy is coming,” captured the excitement of the couple as they prepare for parenthood.

On the cricketing front, Team India is currently engaged in a three-match T20I series against Bangladesh. After securing victories in both Test matches in Chennai and Kanpur, India remains firmly positioned in the World Test Championship standings. The Men in Blue continued their winning momentum in the T20I series opener.

The first T20I took place at the Shrimant Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium in Gwalior on October 6, where India dominated Bangladesh. Bowling first, India restricted Bangladesh to a modest total of 127 runs, thanks to a strong bowling performance. In response, Sanju Samson and Hardik Pandya shone with the bat, leading India to a comfortable seven-wicket victory.

India and Bangladesh will now head to Delhi for the second T20I at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on October 9, with India looking to seal the series.
