Kuldeep Yadav was adjudged the Man of the Match for his two-wicket haul against the Punjab Kings, but he decided to share the award with his teammate Axar Patel.

It should be noted that Kuldeep Yadav had figures of 2/24, while Patel’s figures were 2/10. Also, Patel dismissed two main batters, whereas Yadav took the wickets of Kagiso Rabada and Nathan Ellis. After the first innings of the match, Axar Patel had a chat with Harsha Bhogle, where he gave an interesting reply when asked why he conceded only 10 runs to Punjab Kings.

Replying to the query, Axar Patel said, “I am a Gujarati that’s why (conceding just 10 runs). I think I was bowling my best deliveries from the first ball itself. I wasn’t thinking about the dimensions of the ground that one side is short so I’ll bowl a little outside off and slower or quicker.”
