In the gripping showdown between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Gujarat Titans (GT), Axar Patel emerged as a game-changer with a spectacular catch that dismissed Wriddhiman Saha, providing DC with a much-needed breakthrough at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. As GT chased a formidable target of 225 runs, their skipper Shubman Gill fell early in the second over, setting a tense tone for the innings.
However, Wriddhiman Saha and Sai Sudharsan steadied GT’s ship, maintaining a steady scoring pace and keeping their team in the hunt. By the end of the powerplay, GT had reached 67 for 1, with the duo ensuring the run rate stayed around 10. With DC seeking a breakthrough, it was Axar Patel who delivered in the tenth over.
Left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav bowled a tempting delivery outside off stump, enticing Saha to go for an aerial shot over the infield. Saha connected well with the ball, aiming towards the cover region, but Axar Patel had other plans. With remarkable athleticism, Axar leapt high and snatched the ball out of the air, orchestrating a crucial breakthrough for DC.
