However, the young talent Ayush Badoni showcased resilience, anchoring the innings from the no.8 spot. Teaming up with Arshad Khan, Badoni propelled LSG to a respectable total of 167/7 in 20 overs.

Badoni emerged as the standout performer for LSG, delivering a splendid knock of 55 runs off 35 balls, embellished with five boundaries and a six. Reflecting on his stellar performance, Badoni attributed his success to the unwavering support of captain KL Rahul and coach Justin Langer, despite a lacklustre start to the season.

“The start of the season was not good but I was doing well at the nets. So I am thankful to KL Rahul and Justin Langer for backing me and giving me a chance,” Ayush Badoni expressed during a post-match interaction with reporters.

With a strategic approach, Badoni focused on consolidating the innings before launching an attack, aiming to guide LSG to a competitive total. “I was quite motivated because I was batting well at the nets so I was just backing myself, I was just waiting for the knock which came today,” Ayush Badoni remarked, reflecting on his mindset during the innings.

Acknowledging the pivotal role played by his captain and coach, Ayush Badoni disclosed his enriching experience in Australia, where he underwent a training camp with Langer to hone his batting skills.

“I spoke a lot to KL Rahul and he backs me every time. He tells me you are the best player and you can finish well. I also share a good bonding with Justin. I went to Australia last year, and there also he made me learn a few things and improve my game,” Ayush Badoni revealed.

His training stint in Australia, facilitated by LSG, proved instrumental in his development, providing invaluable insights and refinement to his cricketing prowess.
