After witnessing a wash-out on Day 3, the play finally resume at Dhaka with visitors Pakistan commencing the proceedings with a score of 188/2 on the board. The visiting team managed to add 112 runs to its total before declaring at a score of 300/4 in 98.3 overs. Skipper Babar Azam played a key role in the total and scored 76 off 126.
Azhar Ali, Fawad Alam, and Mohammed Rizwan also played their part as they had scored the fifties to propel the team to a score of 300. After declaring at a score of 300, the visiting bowlers pushed Bangladesh on the back foot early by scalping 5 wickets for a total of 46.

While the Pakistan bowlers were on their task of taking wickets, Babar Azam also opted to come out and bowl, and it was the first incident of him bowling in international cricket for the first time. While Babar Azam is searching for his maiden international wicket, he has had scalped 5 wickets in 72 first-class matches. The 27-year-old has 12 scalps in 147 List A matches and 4 wickets in 205 T20Is.
Meanwhile, Pakistan is eyeing an unlikely win in the 2nd Test to end the series on a winning note. Owing to the consistent rains since the start of the game, a play of only 124.3 overs has been possible across 4 days. Pakistan batted for 98.3 overs while Bangladesh finished day 4 at 76/7 in 26 overs. The visiting team needs 13 wickets on the final day to win the 2nd Test.

Bangladesh only needs 24 runs to avoid the follow-on and will hope to bat for long. On the other hand, Pakistan will be hoping to get some momentum by scoring some quick runs and declaring early to get 10 wickets in the 4th innings.
