A hilarious incident took place between Babar Azam and his Pakistan teammate Hasan Ali when they were up against each other in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL 2023) on Thursday (February 23). Babar Azam was plying his trade for Peshawar Zalmi while Hasan Ali was playing for Islamabad United.

The Islamabad United registered a crushing win over the Peshawar-based franchise by six wickets. Both Babar Azam and Hasan had good outings in the game. While Babar scored a fighting unbeaten half-century to guide his team to a competitive total, Hasan finished the game as the Man of the Match for taking 3 wickets.

Asked to bat first, Zalmi scored 156 for 8 in the allotted 20 overs. Mohammad Haris and Babar Azam gave the team a solid start by adding 76 runs in just 7 overs for the first wicket before the former’s dismissal derailed their innings.

Once Haris departed, the run rate slowed down and Zalmi kept losing wickets at regular intervals. At one stage, they were reeling at 99 for 5 but thanks to Babar, they managed to surpass the tally of the 150-run mark. The score, however, was not enough to win the game.

Islamabad United chased down the 159-run total in less than 15 overs. Opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz came out all guns blazing, smashing 62 off just 31 balls. Rassie van der Dussen (42) and Asif Ali (29*) also played fine knocks to take their team over the line with ease.

Babar Azam and Hasan Ali involved in the hilarious incident:

Talking about the incident, it took place on the last ball of the 14th over when Hasan Ali was bowling to Babar Azam. After delivering the ball, Hasan slipped on the pitch while Babar had hit the ball towards mid-on for a single. And when Babar saw Hasan sitting in his way, he hilariously raised his bat, threatening to hit him before the pacer moved out of his way with a smile on his face.
