For, the Babar Azam-led Pakistan outfit created history, by beating the Indian team for the first time in 12 attempts in World Cup history. And, Pakistan dished out an absolute thrashing to the Indian side in their opening match of the 2021 T20 World Cup at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
While batting first, the Indian team posted a total of 151/7 on the board. While Indian skipper Virat Kohli was the highest run-getter for the men in blue as he amassed 57 runs in 49 balls, Rishabh Pant scored a useful 39 off 30 deliveries. Shaheen Afridi picked up 3 wickets for the Pakistan outfit. In reply, the Pakistan openers decided to go bonkers from the word go as Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam were totally relentless.

The duo made a partnership of 152 runs for the opening wicket, as Pakistan registered a dominating 10-wicket win. While Rizwan scored 79* off 55 deliveries, Azam helped himself to a 52-ball 68*. And surely, it was a day to forget for the Virat Kohli-led Indian side.
And now, a video has surfaced on social media, where the father of Pakistan’s skipper and batting talisman Babar Azam was in tears following Pakistan’s win over the Virat Kohli-led Indian outfit.

The video demonstrates Babar Azam’s father surrounded by Pakistan supporters, and there were tears of joy running down the eyes of the Pakistan skipper’s father. The Pakistan supporters are seen hugging Azam’s father after Pakistan’s historic triumph.

Babar Azam is the third-highest run-getter for the men in green in teh shortest format of the game. He has amassed 2272 runs in 62 matches for Pakistan in T20Is and has scored his runs at an average of 48.34. Azam has also scored 21 fifties and a century in his T20I career as well.
