Ben Stokes is finally among the runs with the bat after receiving a ban from England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in September. Playing for Canterbury in a T20 game, he scored a stroke-filled 93 in 47 balls, which helped his team to register 217 runs on the board.
Stokes is among the headlines since after a brawl outside a nightclub in Bristol on 25 September, which led him to a provisional suspension from the national side. However, in November, ECB granted him a NOC to play in New Zealand’s domestic cricket.
In his previous outings, he failed miserably to perform with either bat or ball. But he made his critics silent after a memorable outing and proved his worth as an all-rounder. After scoring runs with the bat, he brought a most important breakthrough for his team with the ball.
With such heroic efforts, his team registered a mammoth victory by 134 runs.
